There is a big flow of applications for solar grid connectivity following the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission's notification regarding regulations on solar plant connectivity with the KSEBL grid, a KSEB official has said.
Based on these regulations, the KSEBL has issued procedure for solar grid connectivity, said George V. James, convenor of a two-day workshop on 'solar photovoltaic systems' organised by the KSEB Engineers Association (KSEBEA) for its members. The workshop began in Ernakulam on Saturday. It is being led by H. Naganagowda, director (renewable energy) of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited.
Mr James told The Hindu here that the programme was being organised to clear the doubts of engineers attached to the KSEB Limited with regard to KSEBL grid connectivity to solar power plants in the context of the safety of the maintenance staff.
At the field level, the respective electrical division offices are responsible for arranging grid connectivity test, based on standards, for the consumers.
