Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Limited will be funding six innovative projects presented on Saturday before the Energy Open Innovation Zone (EOIZ), jointly promoted by the Board and Kochi-based Startup Village.
The projects selected were automatic power machine developed by Varun Kurup, eco solar water pump by Surish, drive and rack system for ocean by Shaji V V, floating solar plant by Ajay, hydrogen stove by Vimal Gopal and energy from flowing water by Durga Prasad. They were selected from 41 applications, screened by a project appraisal committee and finally selected by an oversight committee comprising senior KSEB Ltd. and Startup Village officials.
"We are happy that the KSEB ltd. has opted for Startup Village to get innovative ideas in power sector. They have earmarked Rs 1.5 crore for funding different innovations for pilot runs and prototyping," said Startup Village chairman Sanjay Vijayakumar.
EOIZ would also provide seed fund to ten final-year projects of BTech students that have the potential to be developed as viable business models. Once they viable, KSEB Ltd. intends to replicate them across the state.
Funds were also distrbuted for the three projects got selected last year under EOIZ.
