The T20 cricket carnival and temple festivals seem set to hit the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) hard during this summer. Ripping up the calculations of the board, the power consumption in the state has crossed the 68mu-mark( 68.091735024) on 22-03-2014,
The board was under the impression that the power consumption would be confined to an average 67 million units during this summer. "The resources of the board are stretched to the maximum. The board is still capable to address the reasonable demand for power. But we are no way in a position to cater to the unbridled use of power consumption. Unless the consumers show some restraint, the days ahead won't be easy for both the board and end-users," said KSEB chairman and managing director M Sivasankar.
