Electrification of all houses in Kuzhalmannam declaredThe electrification of all houses in the Kuzhalmannam Assembly constituency was declared by Electricity Minister Sri. A K Balan at a function held at the Government Higher Secondary School in Peringottukurissy on 02-11-2008.

The first panchayat to be totally electrified in the State was Kannadi grama panchayat which was declared in April 2007. This panchayat was part of this constituency. Now the remaining Kuzhalmannam, Mathur, Kuthanur, Kottayi, Peringottukurissy, Thenkurissy, Erimayur and Tarur panchayats have also been fully covered.
