The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) has issued a notice to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Limited on Friday for realising the expenditure incurred for extending a distribution line from applicants for power connection in violation of the Kerala Electricity Supply Code, 2014 and the Electricity Supply Act, 2003.
The Commission issued the notice after conducting inspections in the Kozhikode, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Manjeri and Kottarakara electrical circles. The notice said that it was the duty of the board to develop and maintain the distribution system. The commission was prima facie satisfied that the board and its officials concerned have contravened the rules and are liable to be proceeded against. The board has been directed to furnish its objections within 30 days.
The commission would conduct a public hearing on the amendments to the electricity supply code at Ernakulam at 11 a.m. on December 17, a commission release said here on 27-11-2015.
