Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (or BSPHCL) has finally given its green signal to the proposal of making the electricity board employees working on contract basis for the past eight years regular.
This will benefit 1,571 employees who will now have their service regularised. These employees were hired in between 2006 to 2012.
"The procedure of making these employees regular is going on and will soon be finalized," said R.Laxman, M.D of South Bihar Power Distribution Company.
SBO, assistant operator, assistant data operator and legal supervisor will be the ones who will benefit from this.
"These employees were getting somewhere between Rs 10,000 to 17,000 a month but will now get somewhere between Rs30,000 to 40,000," said Amrendra Prashad Mishra, chief secretary, Bihar Jharkhand State Electricity Parishad Field Kamgar Union
