Delhi minister Satyendra Jain on 14-06-2016 wrote a letter to Reliance ADA group chairman Anil Ambani highlighting the 'atrocious performance' of its subsidiary company BSES in Delhi.
BSES was given the responsibility of providing electricity supply to two-third of Delhi in 2002 by government. Satyendra Jain, the Minister of Home, Health, Power, PWD and Industries, said that it was expected from BSES that it would install a world class power system in Delhi and bring down electricity tariffs, but it has failed to do so.
He also criticised the company for allegations of corruption on it. "Some of these allegations have been corroborated in CAGs draft report," the letter read.
Jain then went on to write about recent incidents of power outages in Delhi and mentioned that company officials were not 'fudging' the facts to show improvement in working of the company.
Jain also gave Ambani a time of one week to meet him in person and furnish a road-map about how the company is planning to improve its performance.
"You might have had a cosy relationship with other governments in past but this Delhi government is committed to its people," he said in his letter.
