The DERC has admitted the petition for approval for Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) for financial year 2015-16.
Speaking the Newsline, DERC Chairman P D Sudhakar said, "We have admitted the petitions. Now the process of scrutiny will take place. We have put the petitions in the public domain and there will be a public hearing on the pleas. If NGOs and members of civil society raise objections, we will look into it. The process will take at least four months."
The components that will be looked into by the power regulator, before any decision on the petitions is taken, include power purchase cost, operation and maintenance charges, the return on capital employed, non-tariff income, among others.
