President and General Secretary, Electricity Employees Federation of India extend revolutionary greetings to all power workers of Haryana for heroic role towards their long standing struggle culminating into 48 hours Strike against Government's obnoxious steps towards full scale power sector privatisation. Participation of 80% power workers in two days historic strike on 29-30 June 2016, defying ESMA and all threats is highly laudable in the present atmosphere in the country, when all the TUs are preparing for Nationwide strike in 2nd September 2016.
EEFI also convey its heartfelt gratitude to people of Haryana, who extended moral and active support to struggling power workers for the cause of protecting right to electricity of poor people of Haryana as well right of the workers under the laws of the land.
EEFI with its half a million members is pleased to note that good sense of Government of Haryana is going to restore and leadership of striking power workers has been invited for discussion on 2nd July.
EEFI urges upon the Government to drop their obsolete idea of power sector privatisation and start the process of regularization of all contract and casual workers engaged in regular jobs for considerably long period.
