Haryana to construct 400KV Substation and lines on BOOT basis

400 KV LineThe Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam has planned to transmit power in the state through public private partnership platform on Build-Own-Operate-Transfer basis for the first time in the country and has invited tenders in this regard. HVPN has invited Request For Qualification (RFQ) for evacuation of power from the upcoming 1,320 MW Thermal Power Project Jhajjar and 1,424 MW Adani Power at Mohindergarh, the last date for receipt is March 4, 2009.

The bidder will be required to erect Jhajjar Kabulpur (Rohtak) 400 KV Double Circuit (D/C) line, Kabulpur (Rohtak) - Deepalpur (Sonipat) 400 KV D/C line, Dhanoda (Mohindergarh)- Daultabad 400 KV D/C line among others.The right of way for erection of lines will also be ensured. The successful bidder shall be required to construct the sub-station (s) and line (s) in 24 months. The bidder will transmit electricity for a period of 25 years.

A HVPN spokesperson said that the state would provide land required for setting up of two 400 KV sub-stations at Kabulpur in Rohtak and Deepalpur in Sonipat. He said that the estimated cost of the sub-stations and associated link lines of the ambitious projects is about Rs 600 crore.

It would shortlist the bidders, who will be eligible for participation in the bid stage for awarding the project through open competitive bidding process. The state government would help the successful bidders in obtaining necessary clearances from the Department of Forests and Environment required for setting up of the sub-stations and lines.
