Japan aid - 34 sub stations to come up in MP

MPThe Madhya Pradesh Electricity Transmission Company in collaboration with the Japan government will set up 34 sub-stations to transmit electricity from various power generation units in the state. A sum of Rs 40 crore has been received under the project from Japan International Corporation Agency. The project will help in reducing the power transmission loss as well as improve electricity networking in Madhya Pradesh. It may be mentioned that transmission loss was 7.93 per cent in 2002-03. The loss has been reduced to 4.08 per cent in the state.

As per the project, 220 KV sub stations will be installed at Shajapur, Gwalioir, Datia, Mugaliachhap Bhopal, Dhar, Gorabazar (Jabalpur), Anuppur and Julwania (Barwani).

Similarly, 132 KV sub stations will be set up to reduce the power voltage of 220 KV at Hastinapur Gwalior, Runah Bhopal, Khurai, Bhudhra (Tikamgarh), Sitamau, Bichhua (Chhindwara), Baihar, Guna, Barotha Indore, Dewas, Barwani, Shankargarh (Dewas bypass), Amla, Khirkiya, Shahganj, Baroda(Sheopurkalan), Sidhi, Rahatganj (Sagar), Tejgarh (Damoh), Chhattarpur, Rau, Tikamgarh, Batiagarh (Damoh), Satwas (Dewas) and Sohagagpur.

It may be noted that in the year of 2002-03, electricity supply which was maximum of 4,587 MW has now increased upto 7,786 MW.

All three power distributing companies in the state are working out on feeder diversification to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore. Besides, works under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Project of Rs 2,500 crore are under process in the state.
