The Gujarat government has offered 1,200 acres at Dhuvaran in Anand district, where Gujarat State Electricity Corporation owns and operates 440 mw of generation capacity.
The upcoming thermal power project will have two units of 660 mw super critical technology and NTPC is aiming to set up the third unit of660 mw at the same location. The proposed project will depend on imported and domestic coal. It is learnt that the Gujarat government and NTPC are in talks to give final shape to the project. However , the picture will be clear after a multifunctional team of NTPC submits its report.
"The Gujarat government has agreed to offer assistance for the project during the meet with union minister of state for power Bharatsinh Solanki and state energy minister Saurabh Dalal. The state has sought allocation of 660 mw from the proposed 1,320 mw capacity, "a top government official told media.
