OdishaThough the Centre and the State Governments claimed to ensure electricity to all families by 2018, around 40% families in Odisha don't have electricity connections.

According to a written reply by the State Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das in the Assembly, out of 96.53 lakh households in Odisha, 58.29 lakh have power connections.

In the Keonjhar district over 60% houses don't have power connections. Likewise, around 60% households in Khurda district and 50% in Angul district are un-electrified.

The Energy Minister told this to the assembly in reply to a question by BJP MLA Dilip Ray.
