Commission also denied Board's recommendation to ban decoration lights and advertisements. Board's Financial member Venugopal had no answer when the Commission inquired whether the Board has send notification to at least one institution for violating its ban on decoration.
"Board is bearing Rs 7 crore over-debt per day as it buy high-cost electricity. This is 34% of the total power usage," said the Board representative. The lose will hit 2026 crore in this financial year itself.
Representatives of industrial, business and domestic users condemned KSEB's appeal to Commission. They pleaded the Commission to remove the restrictions imposed on domestic users, and demanded that if at all any restriction is needed, the control must be only for domestic users of above 300 unit. It is expected that the Commission will announce its decision soon.
