Rinfra consumers to view and pay their power bills on mobile

Mobile PaymentRInfra's 27 lakh consumers now can have all the power related information on their finger tips, giving them the freedom to access and pay their bills while on move. Reliance Infrastructure Limited, India's largest integrated power company, became the 1st power utility company in India to allow its consumers access all their bill records and make payments through mobile phones.

With this, RInfra's 27 lakh consumers now can have all the power related information on their finger tips, giving them the freedom to access and pay their bills while on move.

It's for the first time that such consumer empowerment initiatives are being launched by any power utility company in India, where consumers have every details pertaining to their power accounts - like power consumption history, payment history; meter reading details, status of their registered complaints, nearest payment facility, etc.

To avail the facility on their mobiles, consumers will have to follow three easy steps on their mobile phones to access the power information and make the payment:

Register by providing their Reliance Energy account details. (If already registered on the web based ‘My Account', same login details can be used).

Login to the ‘My Account' and access all the information you need on the go.

Known for implementing consumer friendly technologies in power distribution, the latest Mobile View & Payment facility launched by RInfra will give consumers freedom to view and pay electricity bills from anywhere in the world.

With the advent of 3G services, accessing the RInfra site on mobile would be even faster as compared to the computer.

While commenting on the occasion, Lalit Jalan, CEO & Director, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. said, "RInfra is a pioneer in the implementing cutting edge technologies for the betterment of consumer services and maintaining reliable power supply. Today, we are happy to say, that we are the first power utility company in India to launch such consumer empowerment initiatives for our Mumbai consumer and will keeping launching similar initiatives in near future."

He further added, "With the launch of Mobile View & Pay bill, our consumers will have real time access to all their power related information at their finger tips, while they are on move. They will have hassle free payment option whenever and from wherever they want."

The new Mobile Bill payment system is further integrated with SMS Alerts Facilities where RInfra consumers will get alerts on Meter reading dates, Electricity Bill, Payment confirmation for select payments mode like ECS, Cheque payment, online payment and Voluntary Deposit Scheme balance information.

Customers will also be reminded via SMS to pay their bills prior to the due date or ECS mandate cross alert. They can also send their duplication bill request or update their contacts through SMS.

RInfra is the largest power distribution company in Mumbai with the licensed distribution area spread over 400 Sq. Kms. in suburbs and surrounding areas of Mumbai. It is supplying power to around 2.7 millions consumers. Company has been recently mandated to distribute electricity for next 25 years, i.e., till 14th August 2036.
