Smart transmission management system launched in Rajasthan

Transmission automationPushpendra Singh, minister of state for energy, launched the smart transmission operation management system through web in the state. Through this system, functions of scheduling of generation and demand, deviation settlement, energy accounting and billing, approval of open access, etc., are automated through web-based services.

As per the regulations issued by Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), deviation charges based on deviation of generation/demand of every block (15 min) and grid frequency for power generators, discoms, railways, etc., connected to transmission system is finalized.

After implementation of this system, all the power generators/users who are covered under the above regulation will be able to make their scheduling online. Their bills for deviation charges will also be issued online.

On the occasion, the minister said that the system would ensure regulatory compliance and grid discipline. With the implementation of this system Rajasthan has joined the first few states who have implemented the process in fully automated mode.

He also distributed the first deviation charge bills issued through this system to the representatives of M/s Adani, M/s Rajwest, M/s RVUN and M/s NLC Barsingsar for their respective generating units.

Vishwanath Hiremath, chairman, RERC, said that gird discipline and regulatory compliance is an important step and establishment of this management system by the transmission company is an achievement.

Sanjay Malhotra, principal secretary, energy, said that the project has been completed in record time and transmission company will be able to provide automated and transparent services to the power generators/users through this system which is essentially required to ensure better services in the power sector.
