Suzlon Energy to supply wind turbines to Chinese firm

Suzlon EnergyIndian Wind power major Suzlon Energy said it has bagged an order for supplying 80 wind power turbines from Inner Mongolia North Longyuan Wind Power Corporation. Suzlon Energy (Tianjin), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzlon, has entered into an agreement with Inner Mongolia North Longyuan for supplying 100 MW of wind turbine capacity, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The scope of the order entails supply of 80 units of Suzlon's S64-1.25 MW turbine in two lots of 50 MW each in the financial year 2010 and 2011, respectively.

The turbines would be supplied to the project site near Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.Last month, Suzlon Energy had received an order to supply wind turbine generators to AGL Energy to help the Australian firm generate 113.4 MW of power, for an undisclosed amount.
