BangaloreWith an aim to address the garbage issue in Bangalore city, the state government on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Dutch consortium. The company will manage 600 metric tonnes solid waste that is generated in the city every day.

The MoU was signed between the Department of Urban Development and Dutch consortium Waste2Value in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Netherlands ambassador in India Alphonsus Stoelinga.

As per the MoU, the Waste2Value would set up a waste-to-energy plant on 25 acres of land to be identified on the outskirts of the city and produce around 7 MW of power out of garbage every day besides, producing end products like biogas and eco-bricks.
